How Is Heaven Directing Your Steps?

September 25, 2017

“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”
1 John 3:2 NIV

In last week’s 4 Point Broadcast, we talked about what it means to grow up as children of God.

We are in a time of significant geopolitical and geophysical transition, rapidly ushering in an era of divine fulfillment and completion.

It’s time to grow up in wisdom and stature and into the fullness of God—fully matured and prepared to give birth to your history-making destiny.

Give birth to your destiny at this year’s End Your Year Strong Empowerment Summit!

Because of the significance of this season, I am leading two 2-hour Prayer Power sessions.

Join me both Friday and Saturday night from midnight until 2 am for a world-changing, destiny-altering time of prayer!

We are a little more than six weeks away from what will be an epic, life-defining event.

Begin preparing now to make the most of this historical year—the New Year 5778 on the Jewish calendar, which is a prophetic year of divine fulfillment and authority.

Now is the time to get serious about your spiritual growth.

It is for this reason I have been so committed to teaching about the 8 Stages of Spiritual Maturation.

I want you to be aware that although you grow in stages, you live in various dimensions. In other words, it is possible to be mature in one area, yet immature in another.

Make it a priority to locate yourself in all of the dimensions you live in, so you are aware of what stage of development you are at in each.

You cannot adjust what you refuse to address.

This is an opportunity for you to address those issues that are plaguing you and make adjustments in the realm of the spirit so you can mature in all areas.

Perhaps, like the prodigal son described in Luke 15, there are some areas in which you need to “come to your senses” by taking a careful, candid look at your situation.

“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger!’”
Luke 15:17-18 NLT

In what areas of your life do you feel as though you’re starving and in need of returning home to your Father—your heavenly Father who owns the cattle on a thousand hills? (See Psalm 50:10.)

In this stage of spiritual maturation, we’ve been taking a close look at the prodigal son and how at last he was able to rise up and return home to take his place as his father’s beloved son.

“So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.”
Luke 15:20 NLT

We talked about where he was prior to this, and how when he was in need he joined himself to individual’s who could not contribute to his destiny.

So many people are joining themselves to individuals who don’t have the capacity—or the character—sufficient enough to address where they are going.

Do the people around you have the capacity to carry you to the next level?

Can the people around you speak to where you are going?

Are your relationships challenging enough to help you with the accountability process—with your ability to take full personal responsibility for everything having to do with your life, circumstances, relationships, health, emotional wellbeing, and future?

You and you alone are 100% responsible for your life. You are responsible for attracting the kind of people—friendships, mentors, associates, and partners—that will take you where you want to go.

The moment you begin to blame is the moment you become a slave.

You cannot afford to consider yourself a victim of circumstances or a product of your environment.

You are a grown adult—and in the spiritual realm it is imperative you understand that there are some things you pray aside and other things you lay aside.

Paul said, “When I grew up, I put away childish things” (1 Corinthians 13:11).

There are things you must pray away and others you must put away.

It’s an act of your will.

It’s time to exchange the world’s childhood scripts for heaven’s adult strategies.

In Luke 5:18, we witness a conversation the prodigal son is having with himself after recognizing he’d made some childish mistakes.

“When he came to himself, he said…‘I will arise and go to my father.’”
Luke 5:17,18 NKJV

He had fallen into a state where he was no longer in control of his life. Other people and other things were in control of his circumstances until he finally “came to himself” and said to himself, “I will arise and go.”

What does your internal dialogue sound like?

The things we say to ourselves are just as important as our audible declarations that we stand up and speak out publicly.

In the private chambers of your own thoughts, what does the dialog sound like?

What is going through your mind? Are you in the habit of making internal declarations over your own ability to “rise up and go” day in and day out?

Do you talk to yourself about how wonderfully made God says you are—how anointed and powerful and strong and courageous you are in Him—or do you habitually put yourself down?

There comes a point when you must recognize that your thoughts are determining your destination.

You can think your way into or out of anything.

You can think your way out of poverty and into prosperity; out of failure and into success.

When God created you, He created you as a creative being made after His own image. God placed His creative gene into your DNA.

In fact, the more you know about God, the more you know about yourself.

If you want to know more about who you are, study God.

I love the story of the prodigal son because it’s a story of how a single thought can lead to a decision that has the power to change one’s destiny.

The prodigal son made a decision. When he came to himself he said to himself, “I’m going to arise and go to my father’s house. This is what I’m going to do.”

The moment you make a decision your destiny changes.

The story of the prodigal son is a story of destiny; it demonstrates how one decision can radically change the trajectory of your life.

You are always only one decision away from living the life of your dreams—but you must decide to decide.

You must align your decisions with God’s best will and make choices every day that reflect who God says you are in Him.

How is Heaven directing your steps in this season?

Is it time you choose to get serious about your spiritual growth?

Is it time to surround yourself with spiritually mature people?

Is it time to rise up and take your place in leading change?

Is it time to make a single destiny-defining decision about where you’ll be November 10-12?

What one thing can you change that will change everything?

You can change your mind about what’s possible! You can choose to arise and go!
