Leaving a Legacy of Hope

September 4, 2017

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.”
2 Corinthians 1:3

Our hearts and prayers go out to all of those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Although there has been a great deal of tragedy and loss, we who trust in the God of all peace and comfort can hold on to a hope strong and sure.

“We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline.”
Hebrews 6:18-20 MSG

Last week I wrote about the power of hope—and today want to encourage those most in need of hope to continue to anchor your souls in the Word of God.

As this ministry seeks to encourage and empower you both spiritually and practically, we have set up a special Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund with the promise to match the collected donations up to $10,000.

Click here to give now from our website and we’ll match up to $10,000!

We are partnering with Samaritan’s Purse and the American Red Cross to provide life-giving supplies and services where they are needed most.

“‘Comfort, yes, comfort My people,’ says your God.”
Isaiah 40:1 TLB

God is in the business of dispensing comfort and hope.

He sent His Word—not only “made flesh” in the person of Jesus Christ (see John 1:14), but also His written Word “living and powerful” (see Hebrews 4:12)—to encourage and empower humanity.

“The Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled,” wrote Paul in his letter to the Romans.

“God’s Word gives us strength and hope.”
Romans 15:4 NLV

Regardless of how your circumstances may look, trust in God’s promises—trust in His Word.

Continue to speak and declare God’s Word over your life and the lives of your loved ones.

Today I decree and declare that whatever the enemy meant for harm will be turned for your good.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
Genesis 5:20 NLT

I decree and declare that whatever you’ve lost will be restored.

“God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he’ll have compassion on you; he’ll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered.”
Deuteronomy 30:3 MSG

I decree and declare that the Author and Finisher of your faith (see Hebrews 12:2) will complete the good work begun in you (see Philippians 1:6) and that you will be “fully equipped to do good to everyone” (2 Timothy 3:17 TLB).

“God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished.”
Philippians 1:6 TLB

I decree and declare that you will lack no good thing according to Psalm 34:10 and that you will have everything you need according to Philippians 4:19 to fulfill His greatest purpose for you according to Jeremiah 29:11.

“I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NCV

I declare that out of hardship you will make history. You will “grow up into Him in all things” (Ephesians 4:15) to leave a lasting legacy.

In light of recent events, I encourage you to join me this Thursday at 7pm ET for our live 4 Points Broadcast

We will be teaching on how you can leave a history-making legacy not only in spite of—but because us of—the seemingly insurmountable hardships you’re facing today.

“In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.”
Psalm 138:3

I know this week’s 4 Points Broadcast will encourage, strengthen, and bless you!

We’ve been hearing many stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the midst of this devastating crisis.

Stories of everyday people reaching out and meeting needs are flooding social media causing the tide of love and unity to rise on a nation mired in strife and division.

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Romans 12:21

Each of us can make a positive difference.

It is incumbent upon everyone of us to grow up and mature spiritually so we can rise up and leave the legacy of hope God has called us to.

We are each tasked with growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior (2 Peter 3:18) because all of creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God (Romans 8:19)!

When we as individual believers are filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19)—fully grown in the grace and knowledge of our Lord—so will be the earth.

“The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”
Habakkuk 2:14

Let’s flood the Houston area with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord!

Help us support the relief efforts there…

Help us leave a legacy of hope in the wake of this hurricane’s havoc.

“For in this hope we were saved.”
